This article explains the perspective that Abraham Heschel, a Polish rabbi and philosopher, proposed regarding the Bible. The concrete elements that identify the prophets and their work and influence in the Hebrew world are emphasized. Alluding to the relationship between text and prophecy, it will be argued around the value of the Bible as the word of God and the implications and philosophical limits that derive from that similar conception. In the same way, with a critical spirit, they will refer to some conditioning derived from moving away from criticism in the religious sphere. The sacred meaning that Heschel observed in the Bible is mentioned, as well as his reaction to the psychological and sociological judgment that has been made of the prophets. The text also pretends to show the theological and philosophical thought of Heschel, who, despite being one of the main mystics of the 20th century,has been little known until now in Latin America.En el presente artículo se explica la perspectiva que Abraham Heschel, rabino y filósofo polaco, propuso respecto a la Biblia. Se acentúan los elementos concretos que identifican a los profetas y su labor e influencia en el mundo hebreo. Aludiendo la relación entre texto y profecía, se argumentará de manera global en torno al valor de la Biblia como palabra de Dios y las implicaciones y límites filosóficos que derivan de una concepción semejante. Del mismo modo, con ánimo crítico se referirán algunos condicionamientos derivados de apartarse de la crítica en el ámbito religioso. Se menciona el sentido sagrado que Heschel observaba en las letras bíblicas, así como su reacción ante el juicio psicológico y sociológico que se ha hecho de los profetas. El texto tiene la pretensión, además, de mostrar algunos esbozos del pensamiento teológico y filosófico de Heschel, quien, a pesar de ser uno de los principales místicos del Siglo XX, ha sido poco conocido hasta ahora en América Latina.
