| dc.description | The second Vatican council, besides its outstanding pastoral value, has a remarkable doctrinal richness as well, which also concerns the current state of eschatology. In Chapter seven of the dogmatic constitution Lumen Gentium we find the first organic and complete magisterial presentation of catholic eschatology after a long period of silence stretching back to the time of the council of Trent. Lumen Gentium’s broad eschatological view can be read in the light of four transversal and interconnected themes: Christocentrism, the Kingdom, the Communion of Saints and the virtue of Christian Hope. In this way, the second Vatican council has assimilated the theologi-cal sensibility of the twentieth century, incorporating it into the millennial tradition of the Church. | en-US |
| dc.description | El concilio Vaticano II, además de su gran valor pastoral, tiene una gran riqueza de tipo doctrinal, que concierne igualmente la escatología en su estado actual. En el ca-pítulo séptimo de la constitución dogmática Lumen Gentium podemos individuar la primera presentación magisterial orgánica y completa de la escatología católica, des-pués de un largo período de silencio de la escatología en el magisterio desde tiempos del concilio de Trento. Con una mirada escatológica amplia, la Lumen Gentium puede ser leída bajo cuatro temáticas transversales y vinculadas entre sí: el cristocentrismo, el Reino, la comunión de los santos y la virtud de la esperanza cristiana. De esta ma-nera, el concilio Vaticano II ha recogido la sensibilidad teológica del s. XX, incorpo-rándola en el surco de la tradición milenaria de la Iglesia. | es-ES |
