Considering the mistaken but often very common idea of a certain dichotomy bet-ween historical happiness and eternal salvation, this article goes through some of the reasons of this persistent belief. And it shows some aspects that should be considered more thoroughly in order to assert with more conviction the harmony between these two moments coming together in just one human fullness. (1) The dual tension between historical and transcendental happiness, recovered for the catholic conscience by the Second Vatican Council in light of the unity of the human vocation; (2) joy, as the core of the Gospel, a theme on which Pope Francis has insisted upon, one which should be harmonious with the fundamental needs of humanity; and (3) the need of accentuating on God´s loving image, taking into account an authentic trinitarian thought, avoiding inadequate doctrine and catechesis concerning God. The theme of this article has been mildly reflected in theology.A la luz de la inadecuada pero común idea sobre una cierta dicotomía entre felici-dad histórica y salvación eterna, el artículo revisa algunas causas de esta persistente creencia y expone algunos aspectos que deben ser reflexionados más hondamente para afirmar con mayor fuerza la armonía entre estos dos momentos de una única ple-nitud humana. (1) La tensión dual entre felicidad histórica y trascendente, recuperada para la conciencia católica por el Concilio Vaticano II a la luz de la unidad vocacional humana; (2) la alegría como núcleo del Evangelio, tema sobre el cual ha insistido el Papa Francisco, y que debe ser armónico con las necesidades fundamentales de la humanidad; y (3) la necesidad de acentuar el rostro amoroso de Dios, a la luz de un pensamiento auténticamente trinitario, evitando exposiciones inadecuadas de la doctrina y catequesis sobre Dios. El tema de este artículo ha sido poco reflexionado en la teología.
