In the name of God and in the name of religions many atrocious crimes have been perpetrated against humanity. God has been, in many cases, the object of contradic-tions and exclusions of both men and women. Having religions as an excuse and as a way to advocate for them, Christians and members of other churches have promoted war, torture, incarceration, and also death. A dialogue among religions must aim at the true value of human beings. The basic postulates of reflection on human values must be based necessarily in terms of what makes human beings more human. From the Christian perspective, Jesus of Nazareth is shown as a model of humanity and of humanization accessible to any person that projects his/her life towards peace.En nombre de Dios y en nombre de las religiones se han cometido crímenes atroces contra la humanidad. Dios ha sido, en muchos casos, motivo de contradicciones y exclusiones de hombres y mujeres. Desde la religión y en defensa de la religión, los cristianos, y miembros de otras confesiones, han predicado la guerra, la tortura, la privación de la libertad para los seres humanos, y también la muerte. Un diálogo entre las religiones debe apostar necesariamente por el hombre. Los postulados básicos de la reflexión en torno a lo humano deben estar siempre en términos de qué humaniza más al hombre. Desde la perspectiva cristiana, Jesús de Nazaret se presenta como modelo de humanidad y de humanización posible para cualquier hombre que oriente su vida hacia la paz.
