| dc.description | The main axis ofthe present article is to elucidate the issues ofthe bilateral Mexican-Chilean agenda during the first decade of the XX century, emphasizing the joint project of establishing a direct and regular line of sea navigation in the Pacific Ocean, in arder to create commercial ties between both nations. The study was made through the analysis of the correspondence from both chancelleries, to preve that the need of new markets and paths of communications and transports united -momentarily- two very distant nations in ajoint effort, and that the project diluted because of the lack of the necessary conditions, since the Mexican government gave priority to the use of its infrastructure, the Tehuantepec train. | en-US |
| dc.description | Dilucidar los asuntos de la agenda bilateral mexicano-chilena durante la primera década del siglo XX, haciendo énfasis en el proyecto conjunto de establecer una línea marítima de navegación directa y regular en el Pacífico, en aras de crear vínculos comerciales entre ambas naciones, es el eje rector del presente artículo. El estudio se realiza a través del análisis de la correspondencia de ambas cancillerías, para demostrar que fueron precisamente las necesidades de nuevos mercados y vías de comunicación y transporte las que unieron -momentáneamente- en un esfuerzo conjunto a dos naciones tan distantes, y que al no existir las condiciones necesarias el proyecto se fuera diluyendo, en parte, porque el gobierno mexicano priorizaba el uso de su infraestructura, el ferrocarril de Tehuantepec. | es-ES |
