| dc.description | This in an essay related to the persistence of the coup d’état in Chile, in 1973, and its consequences in post-dictatorial times. Under the hypothesis that the coup itself has been reduced to its mediatic and monumental representation, we proceed to criticize the exceptionalist readings that syndicate it as an accident from which we would have already recovered, by recovering democracy. This interpretation, which marks the convergence of the official political sectors during the so-called transition, has prevented us from seeing that one of the central effects of the coup is the displacement of a liberal and democratic social contract, by a new type of neoliberal pact; a pact that is complemented by a mediarchy that tends to reduce the complexity of historical processes to the eventual time of the mass-media and opinion polls. | en-US |
| dc.description | Este es un ensayo de intervención relativo a la persistencia del golpe de estado en Chile, en 1973, y sus consecuencias en el Chile post-dictatorial. Bajo la hipótesis de que el mismo golpe ha sido reducido a su representación mediática y monumental, se critican las lecturas excepcionalistas que lo sindican como un accidente del que ya nos habríamos recuperado, al recuperar la democracia. Esta interpretación, que marca la convergencia de los sectores políticos oficiales durante la llamada transición, ha impedido ver que uno de los efectos centrales del golpe es el desplazamiento de un contrato social liberal y democrático, por un nuevo tipo de pacto de carácter neoliberal, el que se complementa con una mediarquía que tiende a reducir la complejidad de los procesos históricos al tiempo acontecimental de los medios y los sondeos de opinión. | es-ES |
