dc.descriptionChancay is a mid-size city on the central coast of Peru, located in the north of Lima. The current construction of the megaport is transforming Chancay into a “global city”, which will be the gateway of trade between South America and Asia. For this reason, Chancay urgently needs to implement a coordinated urban planning that promotes public and private initiatives; as well as the execution of urban design projects that reduce the current deterioration of its structure. In this regard, as part of the Urban Development Plan of the district of Chancay (2017-2027), the North-South Longitudinal Circuit was projected by the studio ESARQUITECTURA for the District Municipality of Chancay; which is presented in this article. The Circuit's interventions are based on proposals for the regeneration and recovery of public spaces that imply “a path” for future projects that should turn Chancay into a livable, inclusive, organized and safe port city.  en-US
dc.descriptionChancay es una ciudad intermedia de la costa central del Perú, ubicada al norte de Lima. La actual construcción del megapuerto está transformándola en una ‘ciudad global’, que será la puerta de comercio entre Sudamérica y Asia. Por ello, Chancay requiere, con urgencia, poner en marcha una planificación urbana que promueva iniciativas públicas y privadas; así como la ejecución de proyectos de diseño urbano que disminuyan el deterioro actual de su estructura. En tal sentido, como parte del Plan de Desarrollo Urbano del distrito de Chancay (PDU 2017-2027), se proyectó el Circuito Longitudinal Norte-Sur, elaborado por el estudio ESARQUITECTURA para la Municipalidad Distrital de Chancay, el cual es presentado en el artículo. Las intervenciones del circuito están basadas en propuestas de regeneración y recuperación de espacios públicos que, además, implican ‘una ruta’ para futuros proyectos que deberán convertir a Chancay en una ciudad puerto habitable, inclusiva, ordenada y segura.  es-ES
