dc.description	Even though there has been changes in technology and cultural consumption practices, soap operas continued to be viewed, making them one of the most watched products on television in Chile; as a result, their representations play a key role in the construction of social imaginaries. Based on the review of three Chilean late-night soap operas —El Señor de la Querencia (2008), Perdona nuestros pecados (2017-2018), and Juegos de poder (2019)— this article analyzes the representations of the abuse of power, and how they contribute to the creation of a common imaginary about the power and its legitimacy. Narrative and tele-visual analysis was conducted, considering the hermeneutical synthesis of soap operas as situated discursivities. The results show that the stories propose the foundations of the abuse of power on moral corruption and resentment.	en-US
dc.description	Pese a las transformaciones tecnológicas y de las prácticas de consumo cultural, en Chile las telenovelas siguen siendo uno de los productos televisivos más vistos, por lo que sus representaciones juegan un rol clave en la construcción de imaginarios sociales diversos. Basado en la revisión de tres telenovelas nocturnas chilenas —El Señor de la Querencia (2008), Perdona nuestros pecados (2017-2018) y Juegos de poder (2019)—, en el artículo se realiza un análisis de las representaciones sobre el abuso de poder que estas producciones construyen y sobre cómo éstas contribuyen a la creación de un imaginario común sobre el poder y su legitimidad. Se realizaron análisis de narratividad y televisualidad, así como una síntesis hermenéutica de las telenovelas en tanto discursividades situadas. Los resultados muestran que los relatos fundamentan el abuso de poder en la corrupción moral y el resentimiento.	es-ES
