This article analyzes the Rules of Procedure of the Congress of Chile of July 12, 1826, as part of early Chilean parliamentary law. The article argues that this normative text is the Rules of Procedure of the Federal Congress and that its immediate source is the Internal Regulations of the Congress of Chile of 1823; it also argues that the content of the regulations analyzed suggests both continuity and innovation with respect to previous regulations, especially with respect to the recognition of the parliamentary majority, without prejudice to having influenced later parliamentary procedures until1831. The article provides documentary evidence to support these claims.Este artículo analiza el Reglamento interior del Congreso de Chile, datado en 12 de julio de 1826, como documento del temprano derecho parlamentario chileno. El artículo sostiene que este texto normativo es el reglamento interno del Congreso Federal y que su fuente inmediata es el Reglamento interior del Congreso de Chile de 1823; igualmente, sostiene que el contenido del reglamento analizado denota tanto continuidad como innovación, en relación con reglamentos -parlamentarios y senatoriales- previos, habiendo influido en los procedimientos parlamentarios de congresos posteriores hasta 1831, pese al fracaso del citado Congreso Federal. Para estos efectos, el artículo provee las evidencias documentales que sustentan estos asertos.
