dc.description	This work intents to revisit the role that José Miguel Infante played during the Chilean process of Independence and later republican formation. We will review the bibliography on the subject and starting there we will try to reconstruct his public life. The result will be a reconsideration of his role as a founding father in Chilean history.	en-US
dc.description	El objetivo del presente trabajo es presentar una revisión del papel que el tribuno José Miguel Infante desempeñó durante el momento de la independencia y posterior formación de la república. Para ello se revisará la escasa bibliografía que sobre él existe, y se intentará reconstruir su vida y obra a partir de las fuentes, tanto documentales como de archivo. El resultado que se pretende es rescatar la figura de un prócer que, a nuestro parecer, ha sido injustamente tratado por la historiografía.	es-ES
