dc.descriptionThis paper exposes the importance of understanding the cultural life of Archaic Greece, with a dialectical exchange between polis and region, considering the currently-limited sources of information. The prevailing principle is that each polis represented a particular space and that it should be evaluated with other poleis that had experienced similar and/or parallel historical experiences, whetherterritorial, colonizing or other reasons, generating a dialogue between them, and they should not be studied with others that didn't have common experiences and evolution. To achieve this objective, a synthetic bibliographical review was carried out in order to highlight what a polis was like during the Archaic Era. The principle of region was evaluated, such as Colophon, Smyma, Miletus and Mytilene. en-US
dc.descriptionEl presente trabajo expone la importancia de comprender la vida cultural de la Grecia arcaica, en son del juego dialéctico entre pólis y región, considerando la limitación de fuentes que se tiende a dar en esta época. El principio que prima es que cada pólis representó un espacio particular y que puede ser evaluado a la luz de las póleis que han vivido experiencias históricas similares y/o paralelas, ya sea por motivos territoriales, colonización u otros, generando un diálogo entre estas, pero bajo ningún aspecto en son de otras con vivencias ajenas a la que se pretende estudiar. Para alcanzar dicho objetivo se ha realizado una sintética revisión bibliográfica en son de lo que era la pólis en la época arcaica, y evaluado el principio de región, a la luz de la experiencia de algunas póleis orientales, tales como Colofón, Esmirna, Mileto y Mitilene.es-ES
