dc.descriptionRural environments are currently appreciated for tourism, hence the importance of preserving their identity. This research considers the biological, environmental and social aspects that encourage harmony between the inhabitants of the homes and their environment, in addition to conserving traditional knowledge. The floristic wealth of Mexico offers a variety for the use of native plants in landscape design. A field study is carried out to observe the plants in the region and their growth, as well as surveys of residents to know their preferences regarding the plants of the community. Based on the results, through a plant palette, the species suitable for environments where water resources are a limiting factor (tropical deciduous forest) in the indigenous municipality of Xoxocotla are suggested. This methodology can be applied in various environments and latitudes. It is concluded that the people of the community of Xoxoxotla give symbolic value to the native vegetation due to its relationship with traditional knowledge, therefore the plant palette and the proposed project exercise will be easy to appropriate, use and apply.en-US
dc.descriptionLos entornos rurales son apreciados en la actualidad para el turismo, de ahí la importancia de preservar su identidad. En esta investigación se consideran los aspectos biológicos, ambientales y sociales que incentivan la armonía entre los habitantes de las viviendas y su entorno, además de conservar los saberes tradicionales. La riqueza florística de México ofrece una variedad para el uso de plantas nativas en el diseño del paisaje. Se realiza un estudio de campo para observar las plantas de la región y su crecimiento, así como encuestas a los pobladores para conocer sus preferencias sobre las plantas de la comunidad. Con base en los resultados se sugieren, a través de una paleta vegetal, las especies adecuadas para ambientes donde el recurso hídrico es un factor limitante (bosque tropical caducifolio) en el municipio indígena de Xoxocotla, no obstante, esta metodología puede ser aplicada en diversos ambientes y latitudes. Se concluye que las personas de la comunidad de Xoxocotla otorgan un valor simbólico a la vegetación nativa por su relación con saberes tradicionales, por ello será de fácil apropiación, uso y aplicación la paleta vegetal y el ejercicio proyectual propuesto.es-ES
