This is a study on how the archive is managed and understood in its most traditional concept (walled, physical, unique) and how it can exists in a malleable medium such as digital. The question is: is it possible to talk about the archive in the digital medium, which is ephemeral by nature? It opens analysis and proposes the idea that the digital is capable of conserving and preserving, but only under certain circumstances that demand change in the understanding of the archive. Focused on Elena Wood's documentary, Locas Mujeres (2010), the study proposes a continuum of preservation and conservation that ranges from the analogous, physical and material terrain; towards the digital film archive. The film represents how Doris Dana preserved, for 50 years, original and literary material of Gabriela Mistral, from her notes and notebooks, to photographs, audios, newspaper clippings, etc. The result was an entire room of information, and the responsibility to preserve and conserve it, was in the hands of Doris Dana's niece, Doris Atkinson. Therefore, Wood decides to make a film about the Mistral archive, which results in the archiving of the archive.Este es un estudio sobre cómo el archivo es manejado y entendido en su concepto más tradicional (amurallado, físico, único) y cómo puede existir en un medio que muta constantemente como lo es el digital. La pregunta: ¿es posible hablar de archivo en el medio digital siendo éste un medio efímero por naturaleza? Abre análisis y propone la idea de que el medio digital si es capaz de conservar y preservar, pero solo bajo ciertos criterios que demandan un cambio en el entendimiento del archivo.    Enfocado en el documental de Elena Wood, Locas Mujeres (2010), el estudio propone un continumm de preservación y conservación que va desde el terreno análogo, físico y material; hacia al archivo fílmico en el digital. El filme representa cómo Doris Dana conservó, durante 50años, material original y literario de Gabriela Mistral, desde sus notas y cuadernos, hasta fotografías, audios, recortes de diarios, etc. El resultado fue una habitación completa de información, y se ve la responsabilidad de conservarlo y preservarlo por la sobrina de Doris Dana, Doris Atkinson. Wood, decide entonces hacer un filme sobre el archivo de Mistral, que da como resultado el archivo del archivo.
