dc.description	This article presents different theoretical and conceptual basis necessary to understand the concept of identity.  This sets forth an analysis of the identity processes and path in a Chilean and Latin American Social historical and cultural context.  Its purpose is to break the opposition between essentialism and modernity.  The construction of identity adults certain mechanisms in the context of a recent modernity.  It also presents a proposal to rescue the subjectivity from subject actions in a social space.  signs of identity the loss in Chile and an explanatory hypothesis from historical discontinuity or analyzed.	en-US
dc.description	En el artículo se presentan diferentes fundamentos teóricos-conceptuales, que resultan ser necesarios para la comprensión de la identidad. Se expone un análisis de los procesos y trayectorias identitarias, en el contexto sociohistórico y cultural chileno, y latinoamericano, intentando romper la oposición entre esencialismo y modernización. Se establecen las modalidades que adopta la construcción identitaria, en el contexto de una modernidad reciente, y se presenta una propuesta de rescate de la subjetividad, a partir de la acción de los sujetos en el espacio social. Se presentan los signos de una pérdida identitaria en chile y una hipótesis explicativa desde la discontinuidad histórica.	es-ES
