Considered by most critics as the only pre-Columbian drama that survived the Spanish conquest, the Rabinal Achí was created in the 15th century by the Quiché, a branch of the Maya who inhabited the region now known as the Republic of Guatemala. This work is not only a great testimony to what remains of pre-Columbian creation, but also demonstrates the high degree of expressive perfection and sense of argumentation possessed by the Quiché people.Considerada por la mayoría de los críticos como el único drama precolombino que sobrevivió a la conquista española, el Rabinal Achí fue creado en el siglo XV por los quichés, una rama de los mayas que habitaban la región que en la actualidad conocemos como la República de Guatemala.
