The Ages of Lulu is the erotic novel with a female point of view and acclaimed best-seller with which Grandes burst onto the literary scene. Following the success of this novel, Bigas Luna directed an equally popular adaptation in which the filmmaker follows in the wake of his first erotic productions, adapting the narrative of Grandes' novel to his own particular universe. This article proposes a comparative analysis between the novel and the film based on the hypothesis that although the Catalan director makes a reliable adaptation in terms of narrative, the main forms of the novel (the critical feminine perspective or the approach to sexuality) are lost in the transfer of formats. In this way, the erotic female narrative gives way to images that play with the genesis of a male pornographic representation in which the protagonist becomes the object of a voyeuristic male gaze, and is constantly subjected to a heteropatriarchal mode of representation.Las edades de Lulú es la novela erótica de óptica femenina y aclamado best-seller con el que Almudena Grandes irrumpió en el panorama literario. A raíz del éxito de la novela, Bigas Luna dirigió una también popular adaptación en la que el cineasta sigue la estela de sus primeras producciones eróticas, adaptando la narrativa de la novela a su universo particular. El presente artículo analiza comparativamente la novela y la película, partiendo de la hipótesis de que, si bien el director catalán adapta fidedignamente la historia, las principales formas de la novela (la perspectiva crítica femenina o el acercamiento a la sexualidad) se pierden en el trasvase de formatos. De esta manera, la narrativa erótica femenina da paso a unas imágenes que juegan con la génesis de una representación pornográfica masculina en la que la protagonista es objeto de una mirada voyerista masculina y sometida de forma constante a un modo de representación heteropatriarcal.
