dc.descriptionThis descriptive correlational study was carried out by means of a retrospective survey involving 796 nursing workers at a Brazilian public hospital and aimed to identify the existence of a relation between the subject “work accident” and the occurrence of these events among the subjects. The results revealed 298 (37.4%) accident victims, totaling 443 occurrences. Teaching on the subject was non-systematized, without any continuity or emphasis on the teaching-learning process. However, inferential statistical analysis revealed some evidence that the teaching received in nursing courses contributed to a decrease in the number of accidents.en-US
dc.descriptionEste estudio descriptivo correlacional fue realizado a través de una recopilación retrospectiva con 796 trabajadores de enfermería de un hospital público brasileño y buscó identificar la existencia de una relación entre la enseñanza recibida sobre el tema “accidente de trabajo” y la ocurrencia de estos eventos entre estos trabajadores. Los resultados evidenciaron la existencia de 298 accidentados (37,4%) entre los sujetos estudiados, totalizando 443 ocurrencias. La enseñanza sobre el tema ocurrió de manera no sistematizada, sin continuidad y sin énfasis en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. Sin embargo, se demostró a través del análisis estadístico inferencial que existe alguna evidencia de que la enseñanza recibida en los cursos de enfermería realizados contribuyó para una disminución en el número de accidentes.es-ES
