The novelty and relevance of the present study are grounded in the discovery of unpublished drafts or unedited pretexts of the first lesbian-themed autobiography in our Spanish literature, written by Victorina Durán and titled Así es (This Is How It Is). Utilizing textual genetics and gynocriticism, all the identified variants will be analyzed, including the sole publication of the text, carried out in 2018. The objective is to interpret the writer’s preferences, comprehend the text’s evolution, and reconstruct the process of its inception, that is, to trace the phases of its composition. The outcome of this philological endeavor provides detailed knowledge of both the work and the actual protago- nists who traverse its pages, protagonists the author attempted to conceal. This discovery opens new possibilities and questions in the study of lesbian literature and cultural studies related to the Silver Age of Spanish literature.La novedad y pertinencia del presente estudio se fundamenta en el descubrimiento de los borradores o pretextos inéditos de la primera autobiografía de temática lésbica de nuestra literatura española, escrita por Victorina Durán y titulada Así es. Utilizando la genética textual y la ginocrítica se analizarán todas las variantes encontradas, incluyendo la única publicación del texto, realizada en 2018. El objetivo es interpretar las preferencias de la escritora, entender la evolución del texto y reconstruir el proceso de gestación del mismo, es decir, rastrear las fases de su composición. El resultado de este quehacer filológico proporciona un conocimiento detallado tanto de la obra como de las protagonistas reales que recorren sus páginas y que la autora intentó ocultar. Este descubrimiento abre nuevas posibilidades y preguntas en el estudio de la literatura lésbica y los estudios culturales relacionados con la Edad de Plata de la literatura española.
