In this article, we will seek to account for how Epicurean philosophy does not really seek a separation or total distrust of the civic and political concept in association with the Greek polis. Thus realizing that life in the polis is not really limited or is not totally relegated to the bases of epicurean hedonism. And how this is helpful for concepts such as the bases of Epicurean philosophy such as "ataraxia" and "aponia". For this we will guide ourselves through a bibliographical-documentary review, to confirm the following research question. Is there really in Epicurean hedonism and essentially in its ethics an absence of the civic and political relations present in the Greek polis? Guiding us from his ethics and different edges to get to verify the following hypothesis to discuss if there is a connection between civic and political life as it develops in pursuit of ataraxia and support of epicurean hedonismEn este artículo, buscaremos dar cuenta de cómo la filosofía epicúrea, no busca realmente una separación o desconfianza total hacia el concepto cívico y político en asociación a la polis griega.  Así dando cuenta que la vida en la polis no esta realmente limitada o  no está totalmente relegada en las bases del hedonismo epicúreo. Y como esta es de ayuda para conceptos base de la filosofía epicúrea como lo son, “ataraxia” y “aponía”. Para esto nos guiaremos a través de una revisión bibliográfica-documental, para confirmar la siguiente pregunta de investigación. ¿existe realmente en el hedonismo epicúreo y esencialmente en su ética una ausencia de las relaciones cívicas y políticas presentes en la polis griega? Guiándonos desde su ética y distintas aristas para llegar a verificar la siguiente hipótesis a tratar, la cual indica. si, existe una conexión entre la vida cívica y política al desarrollarse en pos de la ataraxia y aponía del hedonismo epicúreo
