| dc.description | This work explores the development of Andean cumbia bands in Arica during the 1980s. During this period, Andean migrants, primarily of Aymara origin, began organizing into various groups that allowed them to maintain active connections with their communities of origin. One expression was through Andean tropical music bands, such as Capítulo Quinto, which not only performed in urban spaces but also made regular trips to various towns in the precordillera and altiplano of the former Tarapacá region, participating in traditional patron saint festivals in northern Chile. | en-US |
| dc.description | Este trabajo explora el proceso por el cual se desarrollaron los conjuntos de cumbia andina en Arica durante la década de 1980. En aquellos años, los migrantes andinos, principalmente de origen Aymara, comenzaron a organizarse en distintas agrupaciones que les permitieron mantener vínculos activos con sus comunidades de origen. Una de las expresiones fueron los conjuntos de música tropical andina, como Capítulo Quinto, que no solo interpretaban canciones en espacios urbanos, sino que realizaban viajes periódicos a diversas localidades de la precordillera y el altiplano en la antigua región de Tarapacá, participando en festividades patronales tradicionales del norte de Chile. | es-ES |
