This article proposes an analysis of the description of pamphlets in the sentences of the War Council to civilians in the Chilean dictatorship, housed in the UDP-CIPER archive (2023), and its forms of production and circulation. From the category of ekphrasis, a representational problem of the ekphrastic process is identified, that is, in the transfer of information and the exercise of translating images into words. Mainly, visual and material information is excluded, the focus is on the text, on the content, the signifier is omitted, the image is avoided. In this way, it is postulated that the omitted materiality dilutes the content, the historical and affective traces of the image; the result is an incomplete and partial image, manipulated in favor of the interests of the War Council and to the detriment of the accused.En este artículo se propone un análisis de la descripción de panfletos en las sentencias del Consejo de Guerra a civiles en la Dictadura chilena, alojados en el archivo UDP-CIPER (2023) y de sus formas de producción y circulación. A partir de la categoría de écfrasis, se identifica un problema representacional del proceso ecfrástico, es decir, en el traspaso de información y el ejercicio de traducción en palabras de las imágenes. Principalmente, se excluye información visual y material, centrándose en el texto, en el contenido, omitiendo el significante, obviando la imagen. De esta manera, se postula que la materialidad que se omite diluye el contenido, las trazas históricas y afectivas de la imagen; el resultado es una imagen incompleta y parcial, manipulada en pro de los intereses del Consejo de Guerra y en desmedro de los acusados.
