dc.descriptionThis article presents a characterization of the registration of social science books in the Chilean publishing industry between 2010-2021, in the context of an increase in registrations of books on these subjects in the last decade according to ISBN Chile and the predominance of the academic paper format within these disciplines. For this purpose, a descriptive statistical analysis of the book registration data by ISBN Chile by the Chilean Book Chamber of those titles classified thematically as sociology, anthropology, political science and other classifications was carried out, taking into account the amount of publications per year, publishing house, place of publication, authorship, among others. The results obtained highlight a growing and relatively sustained cycle of production of social science books in Chile, with a diversity of publishing actors participating in the industry. Weaknesses, such as a high concentration of records in one region and a high percentage of actors who published only one title were noted.en-US
dc.descriptionEste artículo presenta una caracterización del registro de libros de ciencias sociales en la industria editorial chilena entre los años 2010-2021, en un contexto de un aumento de registros de libros de estas materias en la última década según ISBN Chile y del predominio del artículo académico como formato dentro de estas disciplinas. Para ello, se realizó un análisis estadístico descriptivo de los datos de registros de libros de ISBN Chile de la Cámara Chilena del Libro de aquellos títulos clasificados temáticamente como sociología, antropología, ciencia política y otras clasificaciones, teniendo en consideración la cantidad de publicaciones por año, sello editorial, región de publicación, autoría, entre otros. Los resultados obtenidos destacan un ciclo creciente y relativamente sostenido de producción de libros de ciencias sociales en Chile con una diversidad de actores editoriales partícipes en la industria, pero también algunas debilidades, tales como una alta concentración de registros en una región y un porcentaje alto de actores que publicaron solo un título.es-ES
