| dc.description | This note is an analysis of the political, social and cultural behavior surrounding the proliferation of Afro-Antillean rhythms and their contribution to the joy of the world. It emphasizes power, hegemony, resistance and subordination, which reveal hidden and open, accepted and detested musical attitudes and discourses; which, in essence, represent power relations. Our time period begins with the slavery regime in the 16th century and continues until the first decades of the 20th century, when the bufos, the contradanza and the danzón proliferated, which gave rise to the different ways of interpreting mambo. The period of these rhythms began in Cuba at the beginning of the 20th century, and extended to the middle of the same century when it became popular in Mexico and the United States. | en-US |
| dc.description | Esta nota constituye un análisis de la conducta política, social y cultural en torno a la proliferación de los ritmos afroantillanos y su contribución a la alegría del mundo. Hace énfasis en el poder, la hegemonía, la resistencia y la subordinación, los cuales revelan actitudes y discursos musicales, ocultos y abiertos, aceptados y detestados; que, en el fondo, representan relaciones de poder. Nuestro periodo de tiempo inicia con el régimen de esclavitud en el siglo XVI y hasta los primeros decenios del siglo XX, cuando proliferaron los bufos, la contradanza y el danzón, los cuales dieron lugar a las distintas formas de interpretar mambo. El periodo de estos ritmos, inició en Cuba a principios del siglo XX, y se extendió a mediados del mismo siglo cuando se popularizó en México y Estados Unidos. | es-ES |
