This article covers the research on the mystical experience that is evident in the prophetic and apocalyptic writings of ancient Judaism, or Second Temple Judaism. Specifically, an analysis is made of the contributions and limits of the two groups of recent biblical studies on this topic. They are the Experientia Group and the Synesthesia Group. Despite the diversity of their composition and objectives, both groups share an interest in interdisciplinary orientation and methodology. Both groups seek to interpret texts and cultural and social phenomena related to the religious experience. What is interesting is the approach of both, not only anthropological in general, but, more specifically, focused on the senses of perception and its relationship with the production of texts that reproduce the religious experience. Both the approach and its objective are not only significant within the disciplinary field of biblical studies in general, since they take further the achievements acquired by previous generations, but also very important to energize and enhance Latin American theological studies, helping to mature. of faith, transcending towards a critical phase, without losing essential anthropological components of the religious experience.En este artículo se recoge el estado del arte de una investigación sobre la experiencia mística que se evidencia textualmente en los escritos proféticos y apocalípticos del judaísmo antiguo, o judaísmo del segundo templo. Específicamente, se hace un análisis de los aportes y límites de los dos grupos de estudios bíblicos recientes sobre este tema. Ellos son el Experientia Group y el Synesthesia Group. A pesar de la diversidad de su composición y objetivos, ambos grupos comparten un interés por la orientación y metodología interdisciplinaria. Ambos colectivos buscan interpretar textos y fenómenos culturales y sociales relacionados con la experiencia religiosa. Lo interesante es el enfoque de ambos, no solo antropológico en general, sino, de modo más concreto, centrados en los sentidos de la percepción y su relación con la producción de textos que reproducen la experiencia religiosa. Tanto el enfoque como su objetivo resultan no solo significativos dentro del campo disciplinar de los estudios bíblicos en general, ya que llevan más allá los logros adquiridos por generaciones previas, sino también muy importantes para dinamizar y potenciar los estudios teológicos latinoamericanos, ayudando a la maduración de la fe, trascendiendo hacia una fase crítica, sin perder componentes antropológicos esenciales de la experiencia religiosa.
