dc.descriptionDigital technology has advanced at a dizzying pace. While many digital objects and interfaces have undoubtedly enriched our lives, we increasingly encounter smart devices designed primarily to stimulate excessive consumption. Digital features are added to new products as a commercial strategy to boost sales, often without questioning the real impact or genuine benefit of their application. From this premise, this work aims to critically reflect on and interrogate the effects that digital technology has on everyday life and the environment, looking beyond the ethereal and invisible way in which digitality is often presented to society. This article proposes that Design, as a discipline, should not only solve aesthetic or functional problems, but also foster greater critical awareness in individuals and communities regarding their relationship with the environment. It calls for a reflective mindset that can help revalue our behaviors, as well as traditional practices and rituals, in order to reinterpret the present and design a more sustainable future. en-US
dc.descriptionLa tecnología digital ha tenido un avance vertiginoso y, si bien existen muchos objetos e interfaces digitales que son un aporte a nuestras vidas, cada vez es más común encontrarnos con artefactos inteligentes que apuntan a estimular un consumo desmedido. La tecnología digital se añade a cada nuevo producto como una especie de estrategia comercial para aumentar las ventas, sin cuestionar el impacto de su aplicación y el beneficio real de alguna de ellas. Bajo esa premisa, este trabajo tiene la intencionalidad de reflexionar y tensionar el impacto que esta tecnología tiene en la vida cotidiana de las personas y en el entorno, analizando más allá de lo etéreo e invisible en que se plantea la digitalidad a la sociedad. Este artículo propone que el diseño, como disciplina, no solo debe resolver problemas estéticos o funcionales, sino también aumentar las capacidades reflexivas en las personas y comunidades en relación con su entorno, en búsqueda de un pensamiento crítico que nos permita revalorizar nuestras conductas, así como antiguas prácticas y ritualidades, con el fin de reinterpretar nuestro presente y diseñar un nuevo futuro más sostenible. es-ES
