Starting from some verses of Fadensonnen (1968), we synoptically address the development of tone in the poetic writing of Paul Celan. Faced with the given tone of the historical, his verses deploy a tonal dissemination that each time affirms a second tone. Often this response – which Celan may have once called (in French) détonation – involves irony and/or critical parody, and even sarcasm. In turn, this second tonality usually comes scanned in movements that leave all tonal economy in suspense, not far from the undecidable humor in Kafka and the serene joviality in Hölderlin. Finally, we offer a translation of the text in which Celan (cited by Daive) lets come à la lettre the term détonation.A partir de algunos versos de Fadensonnen (1968), abordamos sinópticamente el acontecer tonal en la escritura poética de Paul Celan. Frente al tono dado de lo histórico, este despliega una variabilidad tonal que afirma cada vez un segundo tono. A menudo esta respuesta –que Celan habrá llamado alguna vez (en francés) détonation– conlleva ironía y/o parodia crítica, incluso sarcasmo, aunque no exclusivamente. A su vez, esta tonalidad segunda suele venir escandida en movimientos que dejan en vilo toda economía tonal, no lejos del humor indecidible de Kafka y la serena jovialidad de Hölderlin. Al cabo, ofrecemos una traducción del texto en que Celan (citado por Jean Daive) deja venir à la lettre el término détonation.
