The concept of circular design ecosystems is predicated on the premise that design functions as a strategic instrument to catalyse the transition to a circular economy. This paradigm fosters collaboration among diverse stakeholders while promoting innovation in the development of sustainable strategies. This approach is of particular pertinence in regions of the Ibero-American sphere, such as the Canary Islands (Spain). The objective of this research is to analyse the relational dynamics between the agents that constitute the Canary Islands Circular Design Ecosystem (EDCc). The methodology was based on a documentary study of the types and characteristics of the relationships that constitute an ecosystem, complemented by a relational analysis of the actors that constitute the EDCc. The findings indicate that collaborative interactions play a pivotal role in the promotion of the circular economy within the Canary Islands. However, the hierarchical relationships that are characterised by the political sphere highlight the necessity to promote more bidirectional cooperation in order to strengthen the cohesion of the system. In conclusion, the edcc is presented as a dynamic relational system with high potential to catalyse the transition to a circular economy, although its consolidation requires overcoming persistent structural barriers.Los ecosistemas de diseño circular se conciben como entornos en los que el diseño actúa como una herramienta estratégica para facilitar la transición hacia la economía circular promoviendo la cooperación entre múltiples actores y estimulando la innovación en el desarrollo de estrategias sostenibles. Este enfoque resulta especialmente relevante en regiones del ámbito iberoamericano, como es el caso de Canarias (España). El objetivo de esta investigación es analizar las dinámicas relacionales entre los agentes que integran el Ecosistema de Diseño Circular canario (EDCc). La metodología se sustentó en un estudio documental sobre las tipologías y características de las relaciones que configuran un ecosistema, complementado con un análisis relacional de los actores que conforman el EDCc. Los resultados muestran que las interacciones colaborativas constituyen un elemento central para el avance de la economía circular en Canarias. Sin embargo, las relaciones jerárquicas lideradas por la esfera política evidencian la necesidad de fomentar una cooperación más bidireccional que refuerce la cohesión del sistema. En conclusión, el edcc se presenta como un sistema relacional dinámico con elevado potencial para catalizar la transición hacia una economía circular, aunque su consolidación requiere superar barreras estructurales persistentes.
