Mediante el análisis de los discursos del cónsul M. P.Catón y el tribuno L. Valerio en el debate sobre la derogación dela lex Oppia (195 a. C.), este trabajo trata de determinar la consistenciay el alcance de la distinción entre leges in aeternum latae yleges in aliquod tempus latae que el tribuno Valerio habría utilizadocomo principal argumento a favor de la derogación. La conclusióna la que se llega es que tal distinción carece de solidez teórica, porlo menos en el momento histórico en que aparentemente fue formulada,y que su alcance, meramente táctico, se limita a la concretadiscusión sobre la lex Oppia.Through the analysis of the speeches of the consul M.P. Cato and the tribune L. Valerius in the debate on the repeal of thelex Oppia (195 b.C.), this paper tries to determine the consistencyand the scope of the distinction between leges in aeternum lataeand leges in aliquod tempus latae that tribune Valerius would haveused as the main argument in favor of repeal. The conclusion reachedis that such a distinction lacks theoretical solidity, at least atthe historical moment in which it was apparently formulated, andthat its scope, merely tactical, is limited to the concrete discussionon the lex Oppia.
