dc.descriptionThe article presents a review of the literature on the relation between humor and interculturality. The objectives were to explore and characterize similarities and differences in the formulation of the research problems. It includes the review of 25 empirical and theoretical works that analyze humor in contexts in which two or more cultures (identified by linguistic, ethnic, racial and religious differences, among others) interact or coexist territorially or politically. It is argued that between humor and interculturality there is a relation that stresses, rather than distends, the meeting of cultures, and that this tension can be used for pedagogic and subversive purposes. The review shows two lines of investigation that are different but complementary, confirming a complex relation between different practices of humor and cultural identities. dc.descriptionEl artículo expone una revisión de la literatura en torno a la relación entre humor e interculturalidad. Los objetivos fueron  explorar y caracterizar un hipotético campo de estudio que toma en cuenta esta relación, y reconocer similitudes y diferencias en cuanto a la formulación de problemas de investigación. Se incluye la revisión de 25 trabajos empíricos y teóricos que analizan al humor en contextos en los que dos o más culturas (identificadas por diferencias lingüísticas, étnicas, raciales, religiosas, etc.) interactúan o conviven territorial o políticamente. Se sostiene que entre humor e interculturalidad existe una relación que tensiona, más que distiende, el encuentro entre culturas, y que esta tensión puede utilizarse con fines pedagógicos y subversivos. La revisión muestra dos líneas de investigaciones diferentes pero complementarias, confirmando una compleja relación entre diferentes prácticas de humor y las identidades culturales.
