Manhattan Transfer is the novel wich from a Street culture perspective, presents the adventures of an anonymous provincal who is attracted by the glitter and splendour of the big city. To try and understand Brasilia from an urbanistic point of view is a more complex task. The emphatic myths entailed in the modernity of the urbanistic discourse on this city, nearly four decades after its founding sound like rgetoric looking for an autor. The glittering, splendid terms in wich, during the first half of the 20th century the discourse about conferring a new "urbis" form on the city was phased are partially responsible.en-US
