El objetivo principal de este artículo es explicar en breves términos  la interpretación de Max Scheler realiza de la vida de san Francisco de Asís. En el primer lugar se detallan las razones de por qué el filósofo  se interesa por la impronta de este santo en particular y qué importancia tiene esta interpretación para su filosofía en desarrollo. Luego se intentan sintetizar los puntos más importantes de su trabajo, rescatando algunos aspectos novedosos que Scheler ha sacado a luz. Finalmente abordamos en este juicio crítico la lectura que Scheler ha realizado de san Francisco, sopesando si sus reflexiones hacen verdadera justicia a la íntegra vida y palabras del santo, es decir, se pretende a lo largo  de este artículo indagar si Scheler finamente logra entender al santo de Asís auténticamente, o más bien realiza una lectura panteísta  de esta figura, bajo el influjo de los pensamientos que forjarán finalmente, su futura filosofía.   The aim this article is to briefly explain the interpretation that Max Scheler makes about Saint Francis´s life. First we encounter the reasons why the philosopher is concerned with the impact of this particular Saint and how important is this interpretation for the development of his philosophy. Then we try to summarize the most important aspects of his work, rescuing some novel features that Scheler has brought to light. Finally we tackle in a critical way the interpretation that Scheler has made about Saint Francis, evaluating whether his reflections do real justice to the complete life and words of the Saint. That is say, this article pursues to investigate whether Scheler finally manages to understand the Saint of Assisi genuinely or if he made a pantheistic reading of this figure under the influence of the thoughts that finally will forge his future philosophy.
