| dc.description | The author of this contribution suggests the use of organic and native construction materials to solve the serious housing problem that affects Ecuador, where the operative and material costs to build formal dwellings are affected by high inflation rates (150 per cent annually) and expensive home loans. This paper offers innovative methods for the use of materials such as Rammed Earth, Adobe and Wattle. In this sense, architects are required to adapt their criteria to the new building standards of these materials. | en-US |
| dc.description | El autor propone el uso de materiales de construcción orgánicos y locales para solventar el agudo problema habitacional por el que su país pasa, en el que los costos operativos y de materiales para llevar acabo construcciones formales de viviendas tienen una tasa de inflación del 150% anual, y un financiamiento habitacional con un interés muy alto. En este sentido expone métodos innovadores para el uso del Tapial, Adobe y Bahareque, demostrando que su costo es mucho menor pero que exige de parte del arquitecto redefinir su criterio en cuanto al diseño arquitectónico adaptándolo a las nuevas normas de construcción que estos materiales poseen. | es-ES |
