| dc.description | En este artículo abordamos los principales problemas relativos a la actividad científica en la sociedad contemporánea y la forma en que estos problemas han renovado el interés en las reflexiones epistemoló gicas. También caracterizamos las contribuciones y logros del constructivismo, sus diferentes puntos de vista y los desafíos que presenta esta nueva epistemología a la educación y a las aplicaciones de las ciencias sociales.

In this article we address the main problems concerning the scientific activity in contemporary society and the way in which these problems have renewed the interest in epistemological reflexions. We also tipify the contributions and achievement of constructivism, its diferent focusses and the chanllenges that this new epistemology presents to the education and the applications of Social Sciences.
