| dc.description | Within the current concern about the inequalities in the settlement process of migrants in cities, this paper uses a quantitative methodological approach that addresses the characteristics of their dwellings and types of habitat or urban environments to analyze the socio-housing conditions of those coming from neighboring countries and Peru who are currently living in the city of Buenos Aires. To this end, this research uses data released by the 2010 National Population and Housing Census, develops statistical indicators that take account of relevant issues and implements a typological model that classifies the spatial units that make up the city into different types of habitat according to construction periods and the production of housing spaces. It is observed that an important number of regional migrants in Buenos Aires are affected by housing deficit and/or should resort to informal means of land access, thus revealing an urban structure that segregates certain social groups and a process marked by the violation of the rights of a large segment of the population. | en-US |
| dc.description | En el marco de una preocupación por las desigualdades que atraviesan el proceso de asentamiento de los migrantes en las ciudades, el presente artículo se propone analizar las condiciones socio-habitacionales de los migrantes provenientes de países limítrofes y el Perú en la ciudad de Buenos Aires, desde un abordaje metodológico cuantitativo que contempla tanto las características de la vivienda como unidad particular, como los tipos de hábitat o entornos urbanos en los que se insertan. Se toma como fuente de datos el Censo Nacional de Población, Hogares y Viviendas 2010, y se trabaja a partir de la construcción de indicadores estadísticos que contemplen diversas aristas de esta cuestión y la aplicación de un modelo tipológico que clasifica las unidades espaciales que componen a la ciudad en diversos tipos de hábitat, definidos en función del período de urbanización y la forma de producción del espacio habitacional. Se observa, así, que un significativo número de migrantes regionales en Buenos Aires padecen formas de déficit habitacional y/o deben recurrir a modalidades informales de acceso al suelo, dando cuenta de una estructura urbana excluyente hacia ciertos grupos, y un proceso de vulneración de derechos hacia un amplio sector de la población. | es-ES |
