The paradigm of the Agrourbano project: agriculture defended from the city
El paradigma del proyecto agrourbano: La agricultura defendida desde la ciudad.

| dc.description | En respuesta a la expansión urbana, al aumento de la población que vivirá en las ciudades en los próximos años, a la fragmentación y a la pérdida de tiempo del suelo agrario, este artículo busca identificar y discutir los principales argumentos por los cuales la planificación urbana debe estar relacionado con la salud con la planificación espacial del sistema alimentario. En base a un análisis extenso de la bibliografía más reciente en esta materia, se puede enfocar en el papel que puede jugar la planificación territorial en las áreas de articulación que pueden disminuir la distancia entre las zonas de producción y consumo, como también fortalecer la función productiva de los espacios agrarios periurbanos, de contribuir a la reducción de la huella ecológica del transporte de los alimentos, y, finalmente, de mejorar la seguridad alimentaria en las ciudades, para generar un metabolismo urbano más eficiente a nivel cualitativo, ambiental y energético. Concretamente, se enriquece el marco del proyecto Agrourbano, en el que se propone un modelo analítico que utiliza un enfoque sistémico para el tratamiento de la ciudad y el espacio agrario periurbano, y de las relaciones entre los diferentes agentes. | es-ES |
| dc.description | In response to urban expansion, the increase in population that will live in cities in the coming years, and the fragmentation and loss of fertile agricultural land, this article identifies and discusses the main arguments why urban planning must incorporate policies related to the spatial planning of the food system. Based on an extensive analysis of the most recent literature on this subject, emphasis is placed on the role that spatial planning can play in articulating policies that help to shorten the distance between production and consumption zones; strengthen the productive function of peri-urban agrarian spaces; contribute to the reduction of the ecological footprint of food transportation; and lastly, improve food safety in cities, thereby generating a more efficient urban metabolism in terms of quality, environment and energy. More specifically, the framework of the Agrourbano project is enriched by the proposal of an analytical model that uses a systemic approach to treat cities and peri-urban agrarian spaces, and the relations between the different agents. | en-US |
