dc.description	The present work focuses on a proposal for the “Hygienic Disposal of Waste Matter” through “alternative sewerage systems”. The work is based on the Participative Action - Research experience carried out by the author in two rural communities of Tucumán, Argentina: Balderrama, Simoca, y Colalao del Valle, Tafí del Valle. Such experience arises as a response to the community needs and one of the objectives related to Environmental Sanitation of Rural Popular Habitat. The “constructive–social technological model” here proposed is intended not only to handle material aspects of the poorest sectors but also to create the conditions that allow for a greater participation of the community in the improvement of life quality, thus helping them “redefine” objectives and strategies for a better adjustment of the solutions required. That is to say, the improvement of the living conditions of the communities involved is intended by strengthening their organization with the purpose of reaching the sustained development of the sector. The above mentioned was based on a process in which groups, communities and institutions of popular sectors together with the contribution of external agents associated to investigate, learn and understand their problems and to propose courses of action of their own as they are the true innovators of their habitat. This “Shared Project” made it possible to “redefine” Investigation and Extension practices as through the means used both the community and the technicians worked together; “Investigation and Action” were no longer separate moments, avoiding the distress of the rural inhabitant dealt with as well as involving the latter in the process of “decision making” and “execution“ of the project.	en-US
dc.description	El presente trabajo plantea una propuesta para la “Disposición Higiénica de Excretas” a través de ”sistemas cloacales alternativos”. Muestra la experiencia de Investigación-Acción participativa, realizada en dos comunidades rurales de la provincia de Tucumán, Argentina: Balderrama, Simoca, y Colalao del Valle, Tafí del Valle. Dicha experiencia surge como respuesta a: • una necesidad sentida de estas poblacio- nes y, • a uno de los objetivos planteados en relación a la Promoción del Saneamiento Ambiental. A través de este modelo “tecnológico constructivo-social”, se intenta resolver no sólo problemas materiales de los sectores más carenciados sino también crear espacios de participación que les permitan incrementar su calidad de vida, “re-elaborando” objetivos y estrategias para un mayor ajuste de las soluciones planteadas frente a la realidad. Es decir, que se apunta al mejoramiento material de las condiciones de vida de las comunidades involucradas, pero a partir del fortalecimiento de su organización y de sus redes de solidaridad, con el propósito de alcanzar un desarrollo sostenido del sector. Todo ello se basó en un proceso en el que grupos, comunidades e instituciones del sector popular, con el aporte de agentes externos, se asociaron para investigar, conocer y comprender sus problemas y para proponer sus propias estrategias de acción, en el entendido que ellos son los verdaderos transformadores de su hábitat. Este “Proyecto Compartido” posibilitó “resignificar” la práctica de Investigación y Extensión, ya que los mecanismos empleados permitieron el “hacer juntos” de comunidad y técnicos, de manera que ¨Investigación y Acción¨ dejaran de ser acciones separadas, evitando el desgaste del poblador rural sometido a objeto de estudio e involucrándolo en el proceso de “toma de decisiones” y de “ejecución”.	es-ES
