dc.descriptionPayunia consists of the volcanic fields Llancanelo and PayúnMatrú, originated by the Tertiary magmatic activity until historical times. Located in the southeast of the province of Mendoza, Argentina, it was included in 2010 on the Tentative List of UNESCO nominated for World Heritage for the outstanding universal value of its site. This value is grounded on their fields emergence of many igneous rocks from different ages and numerous volcanic relief that structure varied landscapes. Moreover, low human occupation by the dry climate and the youth of different kinds of eruptions, have allowed the natural characteristics remain unchanged.en-US
dc.descriptionPayunia está conformada por los campos volcánicos Llancanelo y Payún Matrú, originados por actividad magmática desde el Terciario hasta épocas históricas. Ubicada en el sureste de la Provincia de Mendoza, Argentina, fue incluida en el año 2010 en la Lista Indicativa de UNESCO como sitio nominado para ser declarado Patrimonio Mundial por su Valor Universal Excepcional. Este valor se fundamenta en que en ambos campos afloran un gran número de rocas ígneas de diferentes edades y numerosos relieves volcánicos que estructuran variados paisajes. A su vez, una escasa ocupación humana junto a la sequedad de su clima y la juventud de diferentes tipos de erupciones, permiten que las características naturales se mantengan sin modificarse.es-ES
