El artículo que se presenta emerge de una investigación realizada por encargo de la Ilustre Municipalidad de San Nicolás y que tuvo como producto un libro ya publicado que reconstruye los principales procesos históricos vividos entre los siglos XVI al XX. Con el doble propósito de unir la investigación histórica a la docencia y, realizar una contribución didáctica a la formación ciudadana de los jóvenes de Ñuble, sobre la base del libro se realizó un trabajo de adaptación que permitió elaborar un texto que reconstruye la evolución de la hacienda comprobándose que la historia de la zona se encuentra ligada, desde sus orígenes, con la acción de importantes familias, que unieron sus destinos vía matrimonio llegando a ostentar la propiedad y tenencia de la tierra. Se trata de las familias Lantaño, Mieres y Martín, unión que daría lugar a la existencia de personajes de gran importancia para el desarrollo político, económico y social de Ñuble. Se destaca el rol económico de esta familia y las relaciones establecidas con sus trabajadores a través de diversas décadas, lo que permite aproximarse a lo sucedido en los campos de la zona. A raíz de la Reforma Agraria y de los procesos de mini fundización, el enorme poder de dicha familia y su riqueza llegará a su fin, no ha ocurrido lo mismo con la memoria colectiva de la comunidad que sigue recordándolos, para bien o para mal. Desde el punto de vista didáctico el material ha permitido que estudiantes de Educación Media accedan a la comprensión de procesos de continuidad y cambio histórico a través del trabajo de análisis de fuentes escritas sobre historia local.The article being presented emerges from a research that was done by the request of the Illustrious City Hall of San Nicolas and that it resulted in a book that has already been published and that it rebuilds the main historical processes lived between the XVI and the XX centuries. With the doubles purpose of joining the historical research to a teaching aspect and, make a didactical contribution the forming of young citizens of Ñuble, with the book as a base an adaptation process was done that allowed to elaborate a text that rebuilds the evolution of states, that way it proves that the history of the area it’s linked, since its origins, with the actions of the important families, who linked their destinies by marriage, achieving the ostentation of the states and land owing. Said families are Lantaño, Mieres and Marion, union that would result in the existence of people of great importance for the political, economic and social development of Ñuble. The economic role it’s highlighted and the establish relation with their workers throughout diverse decades, which allows to reach an approximation to what happened in the country near the area. When the Agrarian Reformation came, along with the mini- statefication process, the enormous power and wealth of said family will reach its end, the same can’t be said about the collective memory of those who still remembers them, for better or for worse. From a didactical point of view the material has allowed that high school students have access to the comprehension of continuity processes as well as to a historical change trough the work of analyzing written sources on local history.
