The present investigation was carried out in the commune of San Pedro La Paz. Since its creation in 1995 it has undergone great changes in urban and demographic terms, elements that have brought with it diverse territorial problems. Among these are the presence of high crime rates, this being a commune that stands out in terms of regional concentration of crime. This research involves a progressive development of different methodological stages, starting with the bibliographic compilation and the cartographic review of data related to criminal indexes, then establishing by means of surveys and interviews a profile of the commune regarding the perception of security Public. Finally, the context of the policies implemented at the communal level (considering public investment) and the guidelines presented by regional policies were analyzed. With the results of these instruments, comparative tables were made for further analysis.La presente investigación se desarrolló en la comuna de San Pedro La Paz. Desde su creación en 1995 ha sufrido grandes cambios en términos urbanísticos y demográficos, elementos que han traído consigo diversas problemáticas territoriales. Dentro de las cuales se encuentran la presencia de altos índices delictuales, siendo ésta una comuna que resalta en términos de concentración delictual a nivel regional. Esta investigación comprende un desarrollo progresivo de diferentes etapas metodológicas, que se inicia con la recopilación bibliográfica y la revisión cartográfica de datos relacionados con índices delictuales, luego se establece por medio de encuestas y entrevistas un perfil de la comuna respecto a la percepción de la seguridad pública. Finalmente se analizó el contexto de las políticas implementadas a nivel comunal (considerando la inversión pública) y los lineamientos que presentan las políticas regionales.
