| dc.description | This article examines how the theories of circumstantialismand perspectivism by Ortega and Gasset contributed to a theoreticaljustification of the theories by Latin American thinkersfrom the first half of the twentieth century. These thinkers refusedto mimic trends and instead created their own theories.These theories then went on to influence Samuel Ramos andwere further developed by José Gaos.
