| dc.description | While the historiography about the relationship between thechurch and the state in nineteenth century Mexico advancedin the recent years, the version that prevails about this relationshipcontinues to be raised in terms of the confrontationbetween two projects -the liberal/progressive and the catholic/retrograde. The confrontation is represented as monolithic,closed, and perfectly differentiated.
