This article briefly presents the trajectory of the institutional regulations that have made it possible to advance in the installation of the gender perspective in Education and the ethical, political and institutional consequences that challenge and stress the education system as a whole. The article is an excerpt from the not yet published document Analysis of the Chilean Educational System from the Gender Perspective. This document was prepared at the resquest of the Gender Equity Unit of the Ministry of Education (Mineduc) with the objective of having relevant and current information on Education and Gender in the context of the process of Reform of the education system carried out in the recent years.Este artículo presenta brevemente la trayectoria de la normativa institucional que ha permitido avanzar en la instalación de la perspectiva de género en Educación y las consecuencias éticas, políticas e institucionales que desafían y tensionan al sistema educacional en su conjunto. El artículo es un extracto del documento aún no publicado Análisis del Sistema Educativo Chileno desde la Perspectiva de Género (Mineduc, 2018). Este documento fue elaborado a solicitud de la Unidad de Equidad de Género del Ministerio de Educación (Mineduc) con el objetivo de contar con información relevante y vigente en torno a Educación y Género en el contexto del proceso de Reforma al sistema educativo efectuado en los últimos años.
