| dc.description | In 1880, a judicial process initiated in Ancud, whose cause were crimes by the power struggles unveiled an organization of witches controlling Chilote sorcerers and healers. This was organized politically into two areas controlled by two Kings: one ruled the Center-North area of the archipelago from Quicaví and another ruled the east area, having as headquarters the town of Queilén.This organization called the 'Recta Provincia' has its origins in the ancient indigenous shamanism veliche, part of the Admapu. However, the complexities of its forms are due to acculturation processes and especially to the social processes that occurred on the Isla Grande.The academic approach, with which this story is built, is based on a frontier between a type of story that seeks to be cultural from an inspiration of the Italian microhistory and a cultural geography. | en-US |
| dc.description | Durante 1880, un proceso judicial iniciado en Ancud, cuya causa eran crímenes por las luchas de poder, puso al descubierto una organización de brujos que controlaba a hechiceros y curanderos chilotes. Estructurada políticamente en dos áreas controladas por dos reyes: uno gobernaba la zona centro-norte del archipiélago desde Quicaví y otro reinaba la zona sur-oriente, teniendo como sede al pueblo de Queilén.Esta organización, llamada la Recta Provincia, tiene sus orígenes en el ancestral chamanismo indígena veliche, parte de su admapu. Sin embargo, las complejidades de sus formas se deben a los procesos de aculturación y sobre todo a los procesos sociales que se dieron en la Isla Grande.La aproximación académica, con la cual se construye este relato, se basa en una frontera entre un tipo de historia que busca ser cultural desde una inspiración de la microhistoria italiana y una geografía cultural. | es-ES |
