Ortiz publicada en 1904, que describe las pugnas entre dos grupos –nativos y extranjeros- en el seno del pueblo de Villabaja, a través de cartas enviadas por el nuevo párroco que llegó al pueblo, a su amigo de la época de seminarista.Dichas pugnas representan los conflictos entre liberales y conservadores que se dieron en diversas escalas en Chile a comienzos del siglo XX. Es así que, a través de esta obra literaria, intentaremos analizar las expresiones locales de esta pugna en conexión con lo nacional, y cómo en definitiva la literatura puede reflejar las tensiones del momento. | es-ES |
| dc.description | In the present work we will study the novel Pueblo Chico by Manuel J. Ortiz published in 1904, which describes the conflicts between two groups –natives and foreigners- in the town of Villabaja, through letters sent by the new parish priest who arrived at the village, his friend from the seminary period.These struggles represent the conflicts between liberals and conservatives that occurred at different scales in Chile at the beginning of the 20th century. Thus, through this literary work, we will try to analyze the local expressions of this struggle in connection with the national, and how literature can ultimately reflect the tensions of the moment. | en-US |
