The present work deals with a revision of descriptive studies elaborated by the article’s authors on child language acquisition, whose mother tongue is standard chilean spanish. We analysed the language production of children whose age ranged from two to five years, taking different linguistic levels into account.  In the first place, the linguistic levels are described and, further on, the main aim of research is focussed on the evaluation of language development improvement in poor children who attend nursey schools and others who do not. Besides, associations are established between characteristics of the adults in charge of the children, as well as the linguistic style employed by them, together with the improvement regarding the children’s linguistic development.  This work ends with recommendations about the type of linguistic interaction a child should get, which apparently could influence the improvement of the child’s linguistic competence.Este trabajo presenta, en primer lugar, una revisión de estudios descriptivos realizados por los autores del artículo sobre la adquisición del lenguaje del niño entre dos y cinco años de edad, cuya lengua materna es el castellano de Chile, desde la perspectiva de diferentes niveles lingüísticos. En segundo lugar, presenta la evaluación que realizaron sobre el avance en el desarrollo del lenguaje en niños pobres que asisten y no asisten a jardines infantiles; y las asociaciones entre características del adulto a cargo del niño así como el estilo lingüístico utilizado y los avances en desarrollo lingüístico.  Finaliza con recomendaciones sobre el tipo de interacción lingüística que debiera recibir el niño y que aparentemente influye en el avance del lenguaje infantil.
