The essay is articulated in a sequence of reflections around the value of Play in the Initial Level. Using a methodological approach in spiral that goes from reflections of anthropological, existential character, child/world relational, systematic learning, up to the actual universe of play in such level. The contribution of the authoress in this field consists in emphasizing the dynamism of the meaningful relations that the child experiences, in considering the interrelations among perception/ image/ reality, intaking into account the importance of the relation child/play object and in revalving tenderness as a pedagogiec category.  She finishes displaying a referential schematic frame in which the value and the necessity of infantile play is shown, as an answer to the multiple challenges the 21st. Century brings us.El ensayo se articula en una secuencia de reflexiones en torno al valor del Juego en el Nivel Inicial.  Utilizando un abordaje metodológico en espiral, que va desde reflexiones de carácter antropológico, existencial, relacional niño/mundo, aprendizaje sistemático, hasta llegar al universo concreto del juego en dicho nivel.  El aporte de la autora en este ámbito, consiste en destacar el dinamismo de las relaciones significativas que el niño vivencia, considerar las interrelaciones entre percepción/ imagen/realidad, en observar la importancia de la relación niño/objeto lúdico y revalorizar la ternura como categoría pedagógica.  Concluye presentando un marco esquemático referencia, en el que se muestra el valor y la necesidad del juego infantil como una respuesta a los múltiples desafíos que nos depara el Siglo XXI.
