The study of migration as a social phenomenon in Latin America is currently of great importance, not only from the economic and legal theory but also from a humanistic dimension. The interrelationship between migration, culture and religion and the pedagogical challenges that affect the praxis of religious education as an expression of Catholic identity, constitutes the problem studied here. fte problem was addressed using a descriptive type methodological design, based on qualitatively based records. fte results show the importance of the study of migration, culture and religion as challenges for religious education and its impact on Catholic identity. It is concluded that the migratory flows that have originated towards Chile, have had a great implication in the culture and in the promotion of religious practices, which constitute challenges for the education that guides the subject and his sense of transcendence.El estudio de la migración como fenómeno social en Latinoamérica adquiere en la actualidad gran importancia, no solo desde la teoría económica y jurídica sino también desde una dimensión humanista. La interrelación existente ente migración, cultura y religión y los desafíos pedagógicos que inciden en la praxis de la educación religiosa como expresión de la identidad católica, constituyen el problema aquí estudiado. La problemática fue enfrentada utilizando un diseño metodológico de tipo descriptivo, basado en registros de base cualitativa. Los resultados evidencian la importancia del estudio de la migración, la cultura y la religión como retos para la educación religiosa y su incidencia en la identidad católica. Se concluye que los flujos migratorios que se han originado hacia Chile han tenido mucha implicancia en la cultura y en el fomento de las prácticas religiosas, lo cual plantea desafíos para la educación que orienta al sujeto y le confiere su sentido de trascendencia.
