The paper starts with two observations: having in mind the ultimate globalization, it is necessary not to forget that, in strict reference to educational tendencies, this is not a unique concept referring to perspectives of totality. Net an application is considered, taking the recent American novel The goal written by Eliyahu Goldratt. Science an Arts, which originated in different hemisferic parts, are brought together in this novel in a surprisingly new educational perspective. The conclusion is the need of an internal globalization that, curiously remembers the precepts of Dr. Decroly. The paper ends with considerations on the still valid and helpful role of arts as a vehicle of holistic education.Este trabajo arranca con dos observaciones: en tiempos de globalización es conveniente recordar que este término no es el único que envuelve tendencias de lo total, sino que está en un campo donde también justamente su aplicación a lo pedagógico se vuelve crucial. Enseguida, se aplica un enfoque global-holístico a una reciente novela norteamericana, traducida como La meta. El personaje principal sale victorioso de un doble reto, el del cierre de su empresa y el hundimiento de su matrimonio. Concluyo que la globalización informativa externa debe aunarse a un proceso de asimilación interna, en la línea del Dr. Decroly. Termina este aporte con unas reflexiones sobre la validez del arte en sí y como vehículo de enseñanza holística.
