| dc.description | The question that guides this paper is clear: How can we understand Chile’s “social uprising” that began on October 18, 2019? At the risk of rushing to deliver a thesis on a situation that is still in progress –although it is in pause due to the coronavirus health emergency–, some ideas can be offered that are based on the theoretical approaches of both Karl Marx and Niklas Luhmann. This connection allows for the development of a systematic observation framework to detect the objective triggers of the concentration crises in which Chilean society is immersed. The analysis presented here seeks to investigate the form that such a concentration takes, namely: a concentration of the achievements of the different social systems. This kind of concentration, taken to the extreme in the Chilean case, contributes to the generation of stratification schemes, homogenizes the diversity of options and choices of the social systems and, captured in inertial patterns of growth, ends up producing crises scenarios such as the one visible today. In this context, it is possible to maintain, at the end of this paper, that only a decision that allows society to face the inherent logic of concentration might be able to offer a definitive way out of the convulsion witnessed in Chile. | en-US |
| dc.description | La interrogante que guía el artículo es unívoca: ¿Cómo comprender el “estallido social” que tuvo inicio el 18 de octubre de 2019 en Chile? A riesgo de caer en la premura por entregar una tesis sobre una situación que aún está en marcha –aunque pausada por la emergencia sanitaria del coronavirus–, se despliegan algunas reflexiones basadas en una conjunción de los enfoques teóricos de Karl Marx y Niklas Luhmann. Esta conexión permite desarrollar un marco sistemático de observación en pos de detectar los detonantes sistémico-objetivos de las crisis de concentración en las que se ve envuelta la sociedad chilena. El análisis que se expone aquí persigue indagar en la forma que adopta tal concentración, a saber: una aglutinación de los rendimientos o prestaciones de los distintos sistemas sociales. Este tipo de concentración, llevado al extremo en el caso chileno, contribuye a la generación de esquemas de estratificación, homogeniza la diversidad de opciones y selecciones de los sistemas y, capturado en patrones inerciales de crecimiento, termina por producir escenarios de crisis como el que se observa en la actualidad. Arrojado en la profundidad de este cauce crítico, es posible sostener hacia el final que sólo una decisión que permita enfrentar la lógica inherente a la concentración ha de poder estar en condiciones de ofrecer una salida definitiva a la convulsión presenciada en dicho país. | es-ES |
