| dc.description | Public history takes on special relevance in countries that have experienced recent social trauma, since it is in non-formal educational spaces where new opportunities for reflection and learning about violence, human rights, etc., are presented. In this article we reflect on the challenges of teaching historical memory to children in non-formal settings, especially on issues related to violence and horror, asking ourselves whether it is possible and necessary to teach these issues to children? What alternatives exist for teaching this type of historical content? For the analysis we make use of the material offered by the Museum of Memory and Human Rights in Chile where one of the audiences is children who go with their families or schools. Among the results, we were able to determine whether what is taught to children omits, dilutes or openly works on controversial issues of recent history. | en-US |
| dc.description | La “Public history” toma especial relevancia en países que han vivido traumas sociales recientes, ya que es en los espacios no formales de educación donde se presentan nuevas oportunidades de reflexión y aprendizaje en torno a la violencia, los derechos humanos, etc. En este artículo reflexionamos sobre los desafíos que plantea enseñar la memoria histórica a niños en espacios no formales, especialmente sobre aquellos temas vinculados a la violencia y el horror, preguntándonos si ¿Es posible y necesario enseñar estos temas a los niños? ¿Qué alternativas existen para entregar este tipo de contenidos históricos? Para el análisis hacemos uso del material ofrecido por el Museo de la Memoria y los DDHH de Chile donde uno de los públicos son los niños que van junto a sus familias o escuelas. Entre los resultados pudimos dar cuenta si lo enseñado a los niños omite, diluye o trabaja abiertamente los temas controversiales de la historia reciente. | es-ES |
